About HBAR
Home Building Association of Richmond (HBAR) is a non-profit group, founded in 1946. For its hundreds of members, we are much more than just a professional trade organization.
HBAR is a powerful voice for the homebuilding industry in the legislative, regulatory and political arenas. By providing four key areas of service: advocacy, education, networking, and marketing, we continue to help contribute to our members’ business and personal successes.
What Sets Us Apart
We’re local, state, and national.
Our membership is a federation committed to fighting for safe and affordable housing in our communities, expanding business, and educating consumers about the newest industry products, techniques and services. Members of HBAR also become members of the Home Builders Association of Virginia (HBAV) and the National Association of Home Builders (NAHB).
We’ve been around for a long time.
HBAR was founded in 1946 by builders facing similar challenges but fighting against regulation independently. They created one voice of the new home construction industry. Since then, we've made strides in affordable housing and continue to fight back against unfair regulation.
